Our Pastor

Pastor Ben, Sylvia, Joshua, and Ashley

Dr. Ben Lahay is a Maryland native, born at Mt. Sinai Hospital and grew up in Catonsville-Woodlawn area of Baltimore County. He joined the Marine Corps and spent the next 10 years in peacetime and war defending a grateful Nation. While home on leave in August of 1987, Dr. Lahay who grew up attending private school(Catholic) accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as His personal Savior and was baptized into believers baptism at Brantley Baptist Church (SBC). He went back to his duty station and met his wife of 20 years, Silvia while stationed in San Diego, California.

After leaving the Marines, Dr. Lahay went to work for Lockheed Martin, with a good paying job, earning his undergraduate degree at Towson State, he was still searching for satisfaction. He answered the Lord’s call to full-time ministry in February of 1998 after hearing a sermon from Dr. W.A. Criswell. Our pastor went on to pastor churches in New York for four years, and then the Lord moved him and his family to Montana for three years. Doctor Lahay is a board certified Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor. The Lahay’s have two children who are absolutely precious gifts from God. They joined us here at Deep Creek in November of 2007 and have hit the ground running.

When asked about their life with the Lord and in ministry, they have replied, “it is a wonderful adventure”; a roller coaster ride where the spills and the thrills are all maintained and protected by the hands of Almighty God. Not many people in life get to do what they love in life, but Doctor Lahay loves the Lord. He preaches and teaches with the same passion. He loves what he does, because he loves who he does it for…Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.

Please feel free to stop in and join us for worship or if the door is open, stay for a while and share a cup of coffee. May the Lord bless you!

Keep the Son in your eyes.
